NNIP Selects Adam Porr as 2026 Network Steward Award Winner

Published on November 2, 2026

The National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership has selected Adam Porr of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) in Columbus as the 2026 winner of the Network Steward Award. The award was created in 2016 to recognize an NNIP Partner staff member who goes above and beyond expectations to strengthen connections among Partners, increase knowledge sharing, and raise the profile of the network.

Adam is a consistent contributor to peer learning, ranking among the top 10 contributors on NNIP’s community platform and regularly participating in virtual events. He frequently responds to questions in the forum, both big and small, and makes an effort to connect colleagues with others who may have answers when he doesn’t. His willingness to share knowledge and make connections helps Partners learn from one another and strengthens the network as a whole.

He also looks for ways to bring the network together and exchange ideas. In November 2025, Adam and his team invited Urban Institute data visualization expert to present to MORPC’s Regional Information and Data Group, bringing Urban’s expertise to a regional audience and creating another opportunity for mutual learning. And through MORPC’s presentation at the May 2025 ACS virtual conference, Adam elevated the 2024 Greenways impact story through MORPC’s presentation at the May 2025 ACS virtual conference, helping introduce NNIP’s work to a wider audience.

Beyond sharing ideas, Adam also helps turn them into opportunities for action. His suggestions for sessions at the 2025 NNIP Partners’ Meeting led to MORPC sharing at two virtual peer learning events:  one presentation on their new dashboard design with data visualization and commentary and another on their MORPCs innovative processes for coding with collaborative teams. These sessions helped launch NNIP’s Technical Affinity Group, creating a new space for Partner peer exchange.

NNIP is stronger thanks to Adam’s generosity, collaborative spirit, and commitment to helping good ideas move forward.
